Holiday with a difference initiative

Carbon offsetting by planting trees: TRASS engages visitors to the Seychelles to compensate their carbon emissions from travel by contributing to local climate change mitigating programmes. The travel sector contributes to the global carbon emissions and impacts from climate changes. Trees, absorb carbon dioxide and hence remove carbon from the air. In return trees produce oxygen for us to survive. Through this initiative, visitors will personally contribute to local actions within the community giving their holidays a meaningful purpose. This could be through planting trees or contributing to community projects in order.

 The Action

TRASS in collaboration with Gaea Seychelles, would like to action nature-based solutions to tackle carbon emmissions from travel and tourism activities. Carbon emissions from a visitor’s travel is converted into a compensation fee or the number of trees to be planted in order to neutralise carbon emitted through the travel to the Seychelles. The traveler can then compensate their carbon footprint either through the purchase of tree seedlings for planting on TRASS project sites on Praslin or by making a financial contribution to one of our Projects.

If you are travelling to Praslin and would like to participate be part of this initiative contact us or sign up through the form on the right.
