Title:
A Ridge to Reef Approach for the Integrated Management of Marine, Coastal and Terrestrial Ecosystems in Seychelles
Main Objectives:
Rehabilitate 30 hectares of degraded upland forest areas on Praslin Island namely, Riviѐre Kerlan, Anse Possession, Pointe Chevalier and Pasquiѐre.
Removal of invasive plants on 20 hectares of upland forests on Praslin to be replaced by native and non-native non-invasive species, including fruit trees and species with capacity for agroforestry.
Produce a comprehensive data set on plant propagation process and implementation of an agroforestry project.
Experiment with various techniques for post-fire forest rehabilitation on 10 hectares of the proposed sites to determine best practices for future projects depending on survival and growth rate.
Expansion of existing plant propagation facilities through the construction of a second nursery at TRASS Nursery.
